The news that he just dropped on her at least gives her something to focus on, but her thought process goes in the natural direction: what had HYDRA done, to make her capable of surviving something like that? She hadn't agreed to it, and so no matter what the benefit, that's another wound that she now bears -- and they don't even know the extent yet.

He frowns at her, the lines in his face all apologies. ] You might have to let them do some tests on you. Which is never fun, but might be necessary in this case. We have no way of knowing what HYDRA did. [ Which is all true, and very practical, but probably isn't what Peggy wants to hear at the moment. So after a pause, Steve adds: ] It... doesn't have to be right now, though. [ He might get some resistance from SHIELD on that, but he's ready to go to bat on this if that's what it takes. ]
